I think curiosity gets easier when you stop trying to come up with interesting questions and just pay attention to what the person actually says.

If they mention a hobby, job, trip, or opinion, ask one simple follow-up: “How did you get into that?” or “What do you like about it?” You don’t need to interrogate them. Just be genuinely interested in one thing they already brought up.
