Not at all. Saving matters even more when you’re not wealthy. You don’t need to save a huge amount. Even a small amount each month can give you some breathing room when an emergency comes up.

The goal isn’t to become rich just by saving. It’s to avoid being forced into debt when something goes wrong. Once you have some emergency savings, you can think about investing and growing your money.
