For me, the biggest benefit is how it lowers the barrier to learning and getting things done. You can ask a basic question without feeling embarrassed, get something explained in simpler terms, brainstorm ideas, or get help fixing a problem.
It doesn’t replace actually learning the skill, but having an always-available starting point is pretty groundbreaking. Recent research also suggests it can improve writing and reduce the effort needed to learn.
