I’ve tried habit tracker, reminders, and streaks apps. They help for a few days, but I usually stop using them.
What works better for me is making the habit very easy to start. I also like putting the trigger somewhere I can see it. For example, leaving a book on my desk makes reading easier to remember.
One thing people don’t talk about much is removing the need to decide. If I have to think about when, where, and how to do something every day, I’m more likely to skip it.
Sometimes a simple calendar and a daily alarm work better than a fancy app. The best tool is usually the one you’ll still use after the motivation disappears.
