Honestly, sometimes you really can just submit an application, especially for entry-level roles, high-volume hiring, or jobs where you clearly meet the requirements.

The mistake is thinking that means sending the exact same CV everywhere. At minimum, make sure your CV matches the job, meet the basic requirements, and follow the application instructions. If it’s a competitive role, a referral or a short personalized message can help, but it isn’t always necessary.
