Starting is exciting because you can imagine the result. Staying consistent is harder because the excitement slowly disappears.
I think the trick is to make the habit boring and easy. Don't depend on motivation every day. Set a small minimum, even 10 minutes. On bad days, just do the minimum.
Also, missing one day isn't the real problem. The problem is thinking, I already failed, so I might as well stop. Just start again the next day.
Consistency is less about doing a lot every day and more about making it easy to come back.
