Don't try too hard to win the argument. Some people aren't looking for an answer, they just want to be right.

Stay calm and ask simple questions. Sometimes asking “Why do you think that?” works better than giving them ten reasons they're wrong.

Also know when to stop. You don't have to correct every bad opinion you hear.
