How to ask

So you've got a question?

We're glad you're here. Ask Crowd exists to give clear, well-researched answers to real questions. Here's how to submit yours — it takes just a few minutes.

1

Think about what you really need to know

The best questions are specific, answerable, and useful to other people too. Before you write, ask yourself: "What's the one thing I'd want to walk away with?"

“How do I choose between a Roth IRA and a Traditional IRA?”
“Tell me about money”
2

Write a clear subject line

Your subject should be a complete question or a clear topic. This helps us index it properly and helps other readers find it later.

“What's the difference between a credit freeze and a credit lock?”
“Credit question”
3

Give us the context (but keep it tight)

Tell us what you already know, what you've tried, and where you're stuck. A few sentences of background go a long way — but you don't need to write an essay.

  • What prompted your question?
  • What have you already looked up or tried?
  • What's the specific piece you're missing?
